SHOTOKAN instructors, most of whom have studied for years in Japan, practice their art between RMCAT instruction on the deck in the front of the RMCAT dojo.
While accomplished martial artists come from many parts of the world to take the BASIC weekend course here at RMCAT, no martial arts training at all is required to attend the RMCAT class. This is not really class in "martial arts" but more in how to deal with hostile people, either on a mental level or if need be, the violent physical level. It is also about learning what you are really capable of doing once you get your mind right.
Mr. Ditizio "I took my whole family here because I was concerned for their safety here where we live in New York City. I had a real fear about that, and now I don't have that fear nearly so much at all. After seeing my wife yell and knee the guy in the groin like a banshee, even my 15 year old daughter became a terror!"
Mr. Levine (Combat War Veteran)
"We have nothing like this in Israel. I have had to fight hand to hand with people who were really trying to kill me. What they do in the fight simulations in this course feels the same way. The hand to hand course really gets to the true problem in fighting effectively and cuts out all the bullshit immediately.
I also took the RMCAT firearms course and it was so real I had some flashbacks. They really know how to discover where you are when you first come in and then go from that point forward. The instructional method is fantastic, they take people with no experience at all and have them fighting with real power and ferocity in a weekend. I was sent by my group in Israel to bring back some of these teaching methods and it was very much worth the trip. We are going to send more people here in the future.
Here an austere Zen rock garden is seen in the front deck outside the RMCAT dojo.
Fresh water can be heard as it runs through the stones of this water garden adjacent to the dojo. (Training Hall)
The power of adrenalin allows this open heel of palm strike to take the bullet man right off his feet.
As viewed from the Dojo deck, early Fall turns the Aspens to a bright gold.
