You can host a one day class directed by Peyton Quinn at your own school. This class does not involve the armored assailants. But it does introduce the students to a significant level of adrenal stress conditioning. Contact me at: quinnp1@aol.com

HOW IT WORKS: I arrive a day before the actual class and then take a half day or more to teach you the basics of instructing this special, applied self defense 5 hour class. We also help show you how to get students into your class. Then in the actual class,  your training will be completed by your assisting in the teaching of that first class with me

This first class often Pays for Itself and then you are in a position to continue to profitably offer this special, one day self-defense program yourself.

I help you fill the class by providing marketing materials & more. Then student's tuitions will help you pay my fee of $1,750 (plus airfare). A class of just 12 persons at $150 each generates a gross income of $1,800 for you. Then you can continue to market and teach this class yourself and you retain all profits. You will also be providing your students with a dramatically enlightening,  effective & relevant self defense instructional program too! This is not just another "technique" or "martial arts style" based class.

Understanding your market for this course: You are most likely already a  competent martial arts instructor yourself.

But the thing to understand is that you could be the best instructor in the world, but without paying students that would all come to very little for anyone, including yourself, wouldn't it?

Perhaps the bulk of your students are of child age. Well, that's fine, as we know how valuable martial arts training can be in instilling self discipline and self respect in a child. But there is also a large, untapped adult market out there for real world self defense instruction taught in short term classes.

There is a significant adult demand out there for some form of reality based self defense training  These people have both the willingness and ability to pay for that instruction as well.

Yet, most of these very same persons do not have the desire or the time to enroll into a regular martial arts school.

You can only get these people into your self defense program if they understand that it truly addresses their problems and concerns regarding their security and also their personal self improvement.

Why you should not try to market this program as any type of martial arts instruction: The adults seeking reality based self-defense training most often do not see traditional Martial Arts training as being a solution to their self-defense needs.

Hence, if you market this one day self-defense instruction as  any sort of
'martial arts training', then they just will not come. Like it or not, the reality is that many adults see martial arts training today as being primarily a "children's activity". If it were otherwise, then many more of those adults would already be in your school.

But if your school already has a significant adult enrollment, then you are in an even stronger position to profit from offering this special short term course.

Yet, also realize that the adults are not coming for self-defense ability acquisition alone. You must see self-defense training as just a subset of the larger field of self-improvement training.

They are not just concerned with handling themselves effectively in a physical fight. They want to avoid that if at all possible and they want to be shown how to do so too.

But they also want to learn how to deal rationally and with less fear when dealing with aggressive or hostile people. They know that this problem is not confined to the street either. They may have to deal with hostile, abusive or aggressive people everyday in their work environment or even in other more personal relationships.

In teaching this one day course you will see for yourself that you have dramatically augmented every student's ability to either avoid a violent confrontation or to prevail or escape if it does get physical. Your students will see and understand all of this too and you will see that reflected quite directly in their faces and in their words.

In achieving this, you will also have automatically elevated their sense of self-esteem and personal self-worth.

Further, when they leave they will be anxious to explain to others the remarkable experience they had at your school in this training program. This will help a great deal in bringing in other students to your future courses.

THE ECONOMICS OF A TYPICAL CLASS: (Gross revenue)
# of Students, Fee per student

  $95 $125 $150 $175
9 $855 $1125 $1350 $1575
10 $950 $1250 $1500 $1750
11 $1045 $1375 $1650 $1925
12 $1140 $1500 $1800 $2100
13 $1235 $1625 $1950 $2275
14 $1330 $1750 $2100 $2450

There are no franchise fees or any percentages taken by RMCAT after you are trained to teach these classes. Once you teach this initial class with me then you should have the confidence to market and conduct such classes successfully on your own. There is no additional fee you have to pay either. You do not pay any franchise fee or percentage of your future class revenues either. You teach the classes and you keep the money.

I personally feel that $175 is the correct price to charge for this one day course for most areas. However, some have charged less and others have charged much more. The area in which you live is important in establishing pricing.

But, keep in mind that the perceived value of a thing is first measured in a person's mind by simply what it "costs". True value thus exists in a person's mind when they know that they got all that they paid for and all that was promised.

However, a great value results when a client feels that they got much more than what they expected and paid for. This will almost always be the situation with every student, every time, if you properly conduct these classes.

Consider the money back guarantee I offer to to the attendants who come to my full RMCAT classes at our Colorado training center. I believe you will find no other such guarantee in this entire industry. Am I taking a risk with such an offer?

Perhaps, but not one person has asked for a refund yet, and you can enjoy the very same experience in teaching this one day self-defense class.

What you need to succeed with this program, and how we help you achieve that success: This program has been taught in one form or another in perhaps  35 to 50 schools at present. Some of those school owners have done very well with it. Yet, others have not. You might well ask why this is?

I have seen some very fine instructors fail to make their schools as profitable  as they might primarily because they lacked fundamental business and marketing skills. Almost nothing of value is achieved without knowledge, effort, thought, and realistic planning.

But, there is another quality that is just as important to your success and that is your desire, or even your love for the work that you do. There are very few people in my experience who open martial arts schools with the sole ambition of just making money.

Let's face it, most school owners are not making much money with their schools anyway.  You do it because you want to teach, you know that you can teach and you find personal satisfaction in doing so.

That attitude of enjoying your work and truly believing in your ability to do that work very well is a big part of the key to success in any endeavor. This is true no matter what the business might be, from making films, to building race cars, or laying bricks.

If you really like your work then you have more than half the requirements needed to succeed in teaching this special program. But, the converse is also certainly true as well.

In teaching this one day course you will discover an immense sense of personal satisfaction in what you have done for your students. They in turn will feel an immense sense of accomplishment too. I have been doing this work for many years and I can promise you that it has never been any other way than that.

I will not only instruct you in how to teach the course, but I will also show you how to best get people into these classes as well.  I provide you with professional, "camera ready" newspaper ads

You will learn to anticipate and respond to the questions of potential students in a way that is most likely to get them into your class.

I will show you how others have succeeded in getting free publicity from the local press. You will receive  handbooks that your students can take with them. This handbook and class summary can also be used to help sell this course to prospective students.

You will receive an Instructors Class Plan that shows you step by step what to teach, and why you are teaching it. The class plan also has tips on how to correctly handle specific "student" or procedural problems that may arise during a class.

HOW DO I FIND OUT MORE?

The best way for you to examine the question of whether you can successfully host this program and then continue to derive revenue from teaching it, is to email  me at Quinnp1@aol.com so we can discuss the particulars of your situation.

For example, significant factors include the area of the country that your school is located in. Some other factors are: The population density within a given radius of your school & The cost of the local newspaper's display ads etc.

The number of existing students you have now can be important too. While your real objective is to bring in more adults from outside your school, some school owners have filled that first critical class with some of their existing students. Keep in mind, though, that my program is not suitable for those under 18 years of age.

However, I can direct you to another program designed for young people which has been conducted very successfully by my head instructor at RMCAT, Bill Kipp, through his FAST training association.

My own one day self defense program as presented in this class is not primarily technique based at all. However, we do teach  and practice some physical techniques, hence you will need air shields or Muy Tai type striking pads. ( I can supply them.)

But the theme is 'simplest is best' regarding physical technique. This instruction does not conflict in any way with any style or martial system either.

There is so much more to real world self-defense that just knowing how to punch or kick, throw or choke and this course is very much based on that reality.
