The RMCAT BASIC, ARMORED ASSAILANT,  Scenario-Based Self-Defense course

The Combat Firearms  course will familiarize you with the safe operation of a number of weapons.

The Stick, Knife and Advanced Techniques Course : You will learn how to defend  yourself against the Stick & Knife, and how to use the Stick and Knife to defend your own life.

All three courses in this week long program are offered for the price of $1,950 which includes all your meals & lodging.

What sort of style or techniques are taught in the 'Advanced unarmed Technique' portion of the course?

PEYTON QUINN:

No particular martial arts style at all is taught in this section.

The techniques themselves are drawn from a number of styles that I have studied such as Judo, Aikido, Wado Ryu Karate, JKD etc). Please understand that I do not pretend to be a "master" of anything or even close to it. Yet, I do have significant actual fighting experience (and I do not mean just prize ring experience either)

All these techniques are reduced to their simplest and most practical form as I learned to use them as a bouncer

In some ways, one could say the "art" is mostly or even totally removed from these technique concepts, and only their effective real world  application is learned in this course.

Often this means the technique is shortened and simplified and more direct than it might be taught in traditional Asian systems.

I primarily only include techniques the I have actually used effectively in my bouncer and "Cooler" work .

Back then I had to use these techniques on a fairly regular basis to avoid being hit, and in using the environment as a weapon especially on larger assailants (i.e. the floor ,wall, roof post support, etc).

These are not very complex movements. But they are very, very seldom taught in an applied way in martial arts classes.

However, I know that size and weight do count in a real fight and so you will  learn the techniques that are most likely to work for you and not just the ones that have worked for me.

I like teaching this course a lot, and it is not a grueling, sweat and blood deal either. Everybody always has a real hoot of a good time in this class.

You will practice some of these techniques at full power on the bullet man while others are too dangerous for that.

The BASIC, Hand to Hand fighting course (Friday evening until Sunday Afternoon)

This course teaches you to effectively use the adrenaline effect rather than being overcome by it.
.
This Scenario Based Armored Assailant Training method is absolutely without equal in teaching a person to defend themselves physically, as well to spot and avoid or de-escalate trouble.

Taking the BASIC hand to hand, self- defense course will also prepare you to take the fullest advantage of the instruction in the other two courses (firearms, stick & knife  and the advanced empty hand techniques course) as after you take the BASIC course you will already realize that the adrenaline pump is the real problem.

More importantly, after the BASIC course you will have learned a lot about how to overcome that adrenal pump "choke or freeze up response".

In any real world self-defense crisis the adrenaline pump is the major issue that you must learn to deal with properly.

This is true regardless of whether you are fighting with only your bare hands, or with a gun, a stick , a knife or any other weapon you might have to defend yourself or your loved ones with.
.

The Firearms Course (Monday and Tuesday) :

This course will train you to make that very critical decision 'to shoot or not to shoot' under the adrenaline state.

You will face several scenarios where you must make that decision and you will be firing on living, talking and moving assailants using non-lethal rubber bullets fired from actual weapons.

Your attackers will instantly know where they were hit and when, there is simply no "after the fact guessing"  involved here at all.

You will also study slow motion digital video of your performance in these fights and scenarios. This has proven to be an extraordinarily effective training aid.  The video also shows you what really happened in the scenarios and what tremendous progress you are making in such a very short time.

Further, in the firearms course, your assailants may be firing at you as well! (but they will be using  only blanks!):

There will also be live fire exercises using real ammunition on the outdoor range. But even these exercises will be conducted under increasingly  stressful  conditions.

You will be firing at  paper targets with a variety of weapons. You will see that point shooting can be used for the pistol, carbine, shotgun or even an assault type rifle. (Monday & Tuesday)

The Stick & Knife, & More Advanced Hand to Hand Techniques Course: (Wednesday & Thursday)

After his honorable discharge from an elite, anti-terrorist Marine Corps unit, Mr. Bill Kipp (RMCAT's Chief Instructor) spent some years in the Philippines. During that time he practiced the Philippine arts of the  stick and knife daily.

But years of training people in scenario based, adrenal stress conditions has proven to us that simplest is best.

This course does much more than just teach you how to use the stick or knife in your own self-defense. The stick & knife course will also teach you how real world knifers use their weapon and how they set up their victims.

We feel this gives you your best chance to survive or avoid a knife attack (and so do the convicted knife killers who have evaluated our course some years ago).

You will also learn how to use the stick and knife yourself, in defense  of your own life.

Please consider that the knife is the weapon you will most likely be able to legally carry on your person if attacked on the street or perhaps in your own home.

The More Advanced 'Unarmed' Techniques Course (Thursday)

This is course is taught primarily by Mr. Quinn and Chief Instructor Mr. Bill Kipp. By this point in the training you will clearly see that "fancy martial arts techniques" are rarely of value in an actual fight. Indeed,  flashy technique is most often very dangerous for you to attempt in a real fight. In fact, most martial artists will discover they can not execute such fine motor skills under the adrenal rush anyway.

The scenarios against the Bulletman  will definitely establish this reality for you, but they also will bring you to a point where you can now "think" and "act" more effectively under adrenal stress.

Once you have reached that understanding and control of the adrenal effects, then "technique" becomes much more relevant and applicable to the outcome of an actual fight. Scroll over to the left under the animation to read Mr. Quinn's explanation of the content and origin of this course.
